The Hawaiian Islands each offer something unique to the traveller and there are six main islands for the tourist to either visit via inter island transfers or to choose as the base for their holiday experience. These islands include Hawaii Island (most commonly known as Big Island), Oahu, Molokai, Kauai, Lanai and Maui.
Collectively the Hawaiian Islands incorporate many experiences for the tourist to enjoy and these include scuba diving, surfing, snorkeling, Zipline adventures, kayaking and exploring the National Parks and volcanoes.
Big Island Hawaii Holidays
The scenery here is diverse and ranges from volcanic desert to snow-capped mountains, dark sandy beaches and lush rain forest. There are also numerous resort centres to visit and these include Hilo, Puna, Kailua Village (also known as Kailua-Kona), Waimea and the Kohala Coast. The main and 'must-see' attraction on Big Island is the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Heritage Site.
This massive park consists of over 333 thousand acres of volcanic landscape and the earth's most active volcano 'Kilauea' is to be found here. The visitor may discover this amazing scenery with 150 miles of hiking trails that pass by the volcanic craters and through the rain forests and scalded deserts.
Things to do on Hawaii Island include shopping, golf, dining and visiting the botanical gardens, waterfalls and pristine beaches.
Oahu is known as the heart of Hawaii holidays with Waikiki and surfing along the legendary North Shore. Waikiki is the main resort for hotels but you can also select to stay in Kahala, Honolulu and along the Leeward Coast.

The towns of Koloa and Hanapepe are also beautiful to visit with no building higher than a coconut tree.Activities in Kauai include visiting art galleries, horse riding, golf, fishing, diving and taking a Zipline adventure through the forest canopy.

The golden sands around this Hawaiian Island are superb and include the Kaanapali Beach. There is almost no end to the variety of entertainment on Maui that in brief includes golfing on championship quality courses, museums, watching cliff diving, hiking, scuba diving and snorkeling.
Known as Hawaii's most enticing island, Lanai is a great romantic getaway for couples and those celebrating their wedding. The wilderness here can be explored by 4x4 jeep and this tranquil island is truly beautiful and unspoilt. Travellers can enjoy watching spinner dolphins and humpback whales off shore or hike along the famous Munro Trail.
Other popular places to visit include the Keahiakawelo Garden of the Gods, Polihua Beach and the Marine Reserve.
